This DM is my best friend. I have played DnD with him since I started playing about 3 years ago when we were both players in a campaign that the DM, well lets say they weren't the DM for us. He then started running his own games again and invited me. I was still a new player at the time, but he let my creativity run wild, let me play what I wanted to play and worked with me every step of the way to make the game as wonderful as it could be. The first character I played with him will always hold a special place in my heart and it wouldn't have been that character without him and his story telling. He is wonderful for new players, is willing to work hard for his players and has an immense love of DnD and table top games. One of my favorite things is he is willing to help you grow as a player. I've talked to him in length about my characters and what I want and see them as, and he has been nothing but helpful in bringing them to life. After sessions I always get with him later on in the week and we go over the session, to find out what we both could do better, what we did well, and what we want for the future. I won't say there hasn't been some sessions where they weren't amazing, but not every session will be amazing for every person, every time. However, he works on making sure that he does his best to try and make every session amazing, even when the players decide to get themselves into things they don't find fun, like for me diplomatic sessions (barf). I've only had an issue in one of his games, where it wasn't his fault, but other players and he was quick to accommodate everyone so then no one felt left out or felt bad.
