I am as new as they can be and was worried about jumping into a game with strangers as well as learning the basic rules of D&D and the use of online table tops. Sifer ran a small session for my brother and I where we were able to learn, at our pace, the basics and common knowledge needed to play a game. If you're a new player looking for help, Sifer was the first to reach out to help and was very positive the whole time.
Eddie has been teaching D&D5e to us, a group of strangers, and it has been fantastic. We have been learning the game without feeling like there are training wheels on. There is a nice injection of theater of mind combat from random and lesser encounters that makes the world seem more lived in than just a place to do quests. The enemies are intelligent and don't just throw their lives away in a frontal charge but use their abilities to maintain their lives and bring down their enemies, the party. The story and the backgrounds of the players are intertwined and engaging, not leaving a dull moment. All around a very solid and engaging game for any beginner or more advanced players.
