Reviews I've given (1)
I'm a newcomer to tabletop games in general, and I've been playing them for a little over a year. One day, I saw a DnD night being advertised by my local games store, Hex and Co. I'd been listening to some DnD podcasts for a while, and I thought hey, why not just give this a shot. And I'm so glad I did because I think that choice had a profound impact on me. My friend and I were lucky enough to get placed into Nick's game, and that's where it began. Fast forward to today, and we're still playing once a week. We've picked up a few new players as time went on, all whom I consider to be good friends of mine now. Our journey with Nick has been a rollercoaster of drama, comedy, and tragedy woven together in such a perfect way that leaves me utterly impressed and inspired long after each session. Nick has a fine eye for details and descriptions, and he can always find new, interesting ways to paint a picture. He's highly adaptable to player wants and needs, and he does a great job and keeping everyone happy. And speaking of adaptability, even when the party takes the session so far off rails that we're walking into entirely unwritten content, he's extremely quick to come up with plots and encounters that truly still feel like a natural progression. There's a lot more to say, but in an effort to not sound too long-winded, I'll leave it with this. Nick has such a beautiful way with words, and with both his improv/acting skills and mastery of his craft, he does an amazing job of breathing life into his characters and the world that they inhabit. He truly excels in every aspect of DMing. It's been such a pleasure to be able to play with him week after week, and through it I've found a new passion of my own, so I'll always be thankful for that.
