The DM is knowledgeable about the game and friendly, but then will out of nowhere lie to you and kick you from the game without you being able to even finish the campaign you were signed up for. I was signed up to do tombs of Annihilation with a group. I was playing a Moon Druid which is kind of painful in a dungeon and at lower levels. The DM said it gets better at higher levels, and ensured us (me) that we would get to keep playing up until level 20 and beyond. I would not have stuck with that character if this was not true. I would have played something more enjoyable. Then session before the end of Tombs of Annihilation, I got a message from the DM saying that I would NOT be continuing on with the group afterwards into higher level content to 20 or beyond. He said that I was welcome to play in his other games that started, but high level Druid play and rules was not something that he felt like dealing with. There had been a couple of times where I had been confused by his rules and the books, and other ways I had seen druids played, but I had followed his rules and he never once gave me any sort of warning at all. Just out of nowhere he kicked me out. I never would have expected it because he seemed nice and we spent lots of time alone in voice chat. So I would certainly be careful what class you pick and the expectations you have for longevity and even for completing a campaign.
