He uses a nice grid system of a calendar. So you can easily call out where you want to move which eliminates all the movement issues for using a zoom call as the base for a d+d game. This allows for good tactical combats when combat breaks out. His pacing is normally one good sized combat a game and a good amount of roleplaying and story the rest of the time. His combats often features some interesting rubs to make it more challenging the x number of monster on a blank area.
