Darrington Press

Darrington Press was first announced in 2020 as a board and card game publishing imprint of the Critical Role brand. It soon expanded to printing (or re-printing) supplement books and campaign setting guides for tabletop roleplaying games and reprinting or editioning other RPGs. By 2023, Darrington Press had released its first original tabletop roleplaying game, Candela Obscura. Around the time of Wizards of the Coast's OGL crisis, Darrington Press announced the development of its own upcoming heroic fantasy RPG Daggerheart, which released in 2025. Not long afterward, longtime creative leads of the D&D team at Wizards, Chris Perkins and Jeremy Crawford, both left Wizards of the Coast and joined Darrington Press. Predictably, Darrington Press has had its games featured on Critical Role numerous times, including short campaigns of both Candela Obscura and Daggerheart.
