About Erik Wick
I am a disabled US Air Force veteran that loves D&D! I cut my teeth on it back in 3.5e and I'm loving 5e. I'm happily married and have two children under 3 that keep us busy when we're not in a D&D game. As a GM I believe in allowing players to roleplay and interact with the world instead of focusing purely on combat. I keep the game fair and balanced and I'm not afraid to deal with problem players. I am also not afraid to alter modules to better reflect the party. When in doubt, the rule of cool wins the day! I have 10+ years of experience playing D&D and I am currently in my 8th year of being a Game Master. I have run modules, led homebrew campaigns, and participated in streamed content. How Erik Wick runs games
I'm very flexible in my GM style and try to fit the tone, characterization, and combat-to-roleplay ratio in a way that fits the party. I believe that the GM is here to keep the party 'on track' with the story while working to make the world feel alive. I try to minimize as much as possible the feeling of 'knee-high walls' through the use of creative storytelling. I am not a big fan of the 'pure sandbox' method and I vastly prefer there to be at least some story leading the characters from point A to point B and beyond.
