I don't know why it's taken me so long to write this review but here goes: I've been playing with VJ for about 2 years and I have to say VJ is by far and away the best DM I've ever played with, and playing with him has been one of the best D&D experiences of my life! This isn't your mama's D&D – VJ makes the game feel alive, new, and experimental with extensive homebrew content brilliantly balanced expertly with sharp creative storytelling. If you want to play regular by the book boring D&D where you just roll some dice and hit some monsters, this is not the DM for you. If you want to play in a vivid, unique, inclusive world that pushes the boundaries of what D&D can be, with a beautiful community of queer people and their allies, slam that join game button. I've played games on this platform that try to keep people engaged with elaborate battle maps, fancy sound effects, and high end microphones and streaming equipment, and it always feels like a distraction. VJ's games are complex in that they navigate complex ideas and utilize a lot of homebrew content, but they're simple in that they strip away all the elaborate fluff you can find in a lot of paid games to reveal what really matters in D&D: playing a fun, immersive, imaginative game with GOOD STORYTELLING. tl;dr: join VJ's community and find the old husk of 5e's antiquated systems and ideas revivified into something beautiful and new

Vj is Energetic, Descriptive, Inclusive of player Ideas, And cares about the safety of everyone at the table. Even when I know it'll be en Entirely new Table of strangers, I'm not Worried.

VJ Opens up a quality and creative space for you to enjoy D&D in a way I haven't played before! A great experience and an extremely collaborative gm that I highly reccomend.

VJ, is a fantastic GM!! They are creative and descriptive during the game, create challenging situations while still making it fun, and leave plenty of room for player creativity to be incorporated into the game. Probably the best GM I’ve ever played with. Highly recommended!

This was my first time using such a service and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result. VJ is exceedingly inclusive and passionate about what they do. I couldn’t be happier with the game that I’m in and I’m so looking forward to more that they have to offer as we continue our campaign! Super patient with mechanics and so fun with worldbuilding. Don’t hesitate to give them a try if you’re just getting into this dnd thing or if you’re just looking to try something new.

The game is a lot of fun but the thing I want to highlight is some of the tools VJ uses! He's got this spreadsheet he makes us all fill out that has been a god send to be honest. It has all the information that a regular character sheet has but also there's automations on it so if you just want to roll a d20 and you have everything set up correctly you just plug the d20 number into it and it tells you what the total is for ALL your skills. I'm also a big fan of verisimilitude so one of the features is tracking hit points but it also has color coding. It goes from green to yellow to red to black and that way you don't have to ask people's hit points you can just see the progression of them getting beat up.
