Hello travelers! I'm Sumner from the Twitch stream, Fateful Encounters. I've been playing for a number of years and have played a number of characters, I know what I'm doing so you don't have to worry. I particularly love playing with and DMing players new to D&D 5th Edition so if you're tentative about playing your first game, don't be. Every game will be just as exciting as it is patient and encouraging. I love providing music, sounds effects and maps to provide the most atmospheric game play I can summon. We will be using Roll20 for maps and meeting on the most wholesome and active D&D Discord I know: www.discord.gg/FatefulEncounters. We will have a private voice channel and since the server is boosted to max we will have top-notch audio quality and video capabilities.

GM style

I love roleplay, it's what makes these games really fun for me. I will always choose cool and fun moments over small non-game-breaking rules. In other words, I prefer role-play over roll-play. With that said, I do well with managing a large handful of players and being able to have things moving in the background with NPC's, baddies and terrain while reminding to you to do a concentration check. I try to utilize a healthy balance of roleplay and combat, however, because what's the fun in leveling up if you don't get to flex those spell slots and extra attacks? Expect combat to either tell a story or force some "what would my character do" moments ;)
