About Tiago Barbosa

I have been a RPG player and Game Master for over 10 years, I understand how adult life can make it tough to find time for gaming with friends in a fantastical setting. That's why I’ve found success in breaking traditional conventions like lengthy sessions and needing large blocks of free time. Instead, I run engaging, long-running campaigns with shorter, more consistent sessions that fit better into busy schedules. My favorite system (and the one i have most experience with) is DnD 5e, for its easy modularity and customizable content. I have also played other systems like Shadowrun, Tormenta, Pathfinder 2nd, Candela Obscura and Vampire: the Masquerade. I pride myself on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment, for veterans and beginners and for LGBTQ+ and female players who (for good reasons) may be hesitant to join a game. My sessions are designed to be fun, challenging, and respectful for everyone. My favorite approach to storytelling is blending pre-written campaign plots with character backstories, provided by the players, mixed in between along homebrewed encounters of my own. This mix ensures a dynamic experience where your character’s story truly matters in the game world.

How Tiago Barbosa runs games

I love to run a base preset main plot with open paths and places for exploration and sidequesting. I like to involve personal Character backstory in between the story beats and when possible involve the character to the main plot itself. Levity and jokes are welcome, most of my games avoid "serious dark settings" unless specifically requested. I may change a rule for the sake of convinience or to help the enjoyment of a player and am welcoming to implement homebrew, so long as i can read it first and the other players don't feel like they are getting the short end of the fun stick. Combat is mostly avoidable if thats the intent from the players but challenging when it happens, having one or more characters knockd down before a win is a common ocurrence (specially with the casual death saving nature of 5e).
