About me

Greetings! My name is Chris. I've been gaming since I was a kid, but was first properly introduced to RPGs when I was in high school. Over the years I have played and ran countless games. Since those days I've pretty much always had an RPG group that meets once a week. Today I host my own gaming podcast called Dragon's Greed Gaming and still play games with many of the friends I have made along the way. I have 20 years experience as GM and a player. I've ran and played in many RPG systems over the years including: Warhammer Fantasy (2e-4e), Alien, Blade Runner, WARHAMMER 40k (Both the Fantasy Flight and Wrath & Glory systems), mork Borg, Dungeons and Dragons (2e-5e), All Flesh Must Be Eaten, The End of the World, Dread, Outbreak Undead, GURPS, Vampire the Masquerade, Aetherium, Star Wars, Iron Kingdoms, and Pathfinder. Aside from running games for my personal groups, I have plenty of experience running games for strangers and pick-up groups. I've ran games at conventions like Gen Con, Adepticon, Origins, PAX, and Games Workshop's Gamesday. I worked for Games Workshoip for nearly eight years, during which I learned the skill of how to teach others the rules of many games and how to paint miniatures.

GM Style

When I run games I try my best to bring a good balance to the table and focus on what my players want. My strength has always been attention to the story and narrative. I strive to have a good understanding of the rules when I GM but am comfortable improvising as well. I am equally at ease with running theater of the mind or utilizing battle maps if you prefer something a bit more tactical, and most of my games are a good mix of the two. I also love to teach rules systems to new players and I consider that one of my strengths. I have always been drawn to a strong narrative. I try to give each player time to shine in the spotlight and enjoy focusing on character backstories and the overall plot. I am great when it comes to multi-tasking, and and I am always conscious of making sure everyone feels involved at the table. Generally speaking, my games usually have a good mix of role play and combat. If your group prefers more of one over the other I am more than willing to accommodate. I always like to have some background music when I host a game, and strive to have tunes that are scene appropriate. I currently run my games on Foundry VTT and use Discord for voice chat. Currently my go to RPGs are Alien and Warhammer Fantasy 4e, but if your group is interested in something else, let's talk!

For my first time playing the Alien RPG, I couldn't have asked for a better GM. His understanding of the rules and ability to share that with someone new was amazing. The story was fun, the stakes felt high, and despite our best efforts we all survived.

Chris has a great mastery for the Foundry system and the Alien RPG in particular. He's well versed in the Alien RPG lore and, at the same time, didn't let it get in the way of the fun we were having. It was a great, immersive experience and I'd absolutely play with him again.

Well prepared, good visual aids, encouraged use of the technology, gave people an opportunity to get comfortable with Beth tech. Was very inclusive, encouraged active participation from everyone. Excellent knowledge of the rules and the scenario.
