About me

I have been DMing for years for various groups of my friends. We wanted to attempt 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons and I volunteered to take up the mantle of DM. This has allowed me to become accustomed to various party sizes (3-9+), styles of play (roleplay heavy, combat heavy, mystery), and experience levels (beginner to veteran) as my groups grew with me. Now as a graduate student, money is tight and I want to share and create fun and enjoyable stories with others. As much as I hate the idea of charging money for it, bills gotta be paid. I plan to work with my players to create the best experience possible for everyone involved. If you need me to sell you on it I say this: Those who play in my games understand the phrase "trust the process". Know that trust is forged and earned and I intend to earn it, starting by offering a free session 0 and a session 1 guarantee (you pay at the end of the session after you get your money's worth and you decide to continue in the campaign). People will be paying for a service and I intend to make it a damn good one. I've been called evil but fair, lawful evil, and "the Dark Souls DM" by my players, which they insist are glowing reviews. "To trust the process is to trust one’s self, for no matter what you plan on doing, it will be the pits of despair that drives you to the realization of ‘ uhhh….. can I get an extra character sheet‘" -a player of mine satisfied with a session despite their character's death

GM Style

I can do anything. My style has been called brutal but fair, lawful evil, and Dark Souls like. My players have given me the moniker of Dark Souls DM. The world has rules and follows them strictly; however, that doesn't mean you are aware of all (or any) of them. I am great with tactical combat of all scales and roleplaying at all levels! I am working on getting better at remembering to do character voices (but I am getting better)!

I only played one campaign before having Cole as my DM. We have a solid mix of veteran and new players, but Cole makes it so easy for us to interact with each other in a way that makes sense. He is very kind and patient, and he gives 120% effort for every session.

Cole is a great DM! I've had the privilege of playing with him as a fellow player and Game Master. There is of course so many things positive things I could say, but to be brief one of the best things about playing in one of his games is his willingness and ability to work in a player's backstory with real-game effects. He's willing to indulge a player and work with them to see their vision of their character become a reality.

Cole is a great DM, he has put so much effort into every game that we play in , even in the 'low' effort games. He will show you what it means to trust in the story, the narrative, and the group dynamic that you build while playing. a solid 8.7/ 10 which is better then a regular 8.7/10.

Every bit the equal to the time and effort an artisan pours into their craft is the measure taken by the community at large. Would-be founders of any new venture either accept this or are spoken of only by those who wander amongst the ruins of it. It is from this position I would implore those same wanderers to trust in Cole's abilities. You will find your voice at home within the stirring song of new adventure.

He has always been able to strike a fair balance between sticking to RAW/RAI and ROC. He is very fair, open, and attentive with each of his players, and I have always been able to talk to him about anything relating to my characters, be they ideas or concerns, without worry.
