About me

I'm a screenwriter and filmmaker when I'm not at the movies, volunteering with my church, or spending time with family. When I started playing D&D and eventually Game Mastering, it was more of a narrative, brain-working exercise for me - but now I'm passionate about the game and I believe I have something special to offer my players.

GM Style

I love a good narrative, and I'm of the firm belief that a Game Master does not have to rail-road players to have that. A good narrative will form out of player/character decisions as they explore the world, even in established campaign modules (those are merely story guides - meant to be bent, broken, and reshaped as characters find their own story). I love incorporating a character's backstory when I'm able to - and I love it when players really know their characters... players that care more about the journey and the growth of the character than maxing them out so they can be unstoppable, dungeon clearing machines. I definitely enjoy good combat - but that has to be earned, not constant. I want my players to feel like they are able to step into their character's shoes and live in that world for a few hours every time we play. I love using music, sound effects, maps, and art to draw the players into the world of their characters for a more immersive experience.
