About me
Hi, Im Michael, but I go by the Bitter DM online, I have been playing TTRPGS for over 20 years! I started with 3.5 back in the early 2000s and I currently play many games across dozens of systems. Including d20, white wolf, 2d20 and PTBA. My personal favorites being DnD5, Monster of the Week, and the Star Trek Adventures RPG. I've been a forever DM since college and im ready to continue that tradition.
GM Style
My motto is fun first, I try to create consistent worlds with overarching themes and story lines that are easy to follow but if the party wants to abandoned their noble quest to start a bakery in the foothills I'm fully ready to role play that as well. While I enjoy tactical combat, I will always prefer an improvisational style and the will of the group and consistent engagement are whats most important to me. That being said I think my greatest strength is character spot lighting there are no main characters at my table everyone gets their time to shine.

The Bitter DM is THE MAN! I have been a player in 4 of his campaigns and various one-shots. He creates challenging and unique enviorments that are never unfair. Every game has felt fleshed out and offers something for any type of play style. He provides various ways to approach any given situation and never railroads his players. I really couldn't recommend him enough. The Bitter DM is really a jack of all trades. He provides humorous encounters, compelling plots, interesting lore, and engaging combat. 10/10 GM :)

I have played multiple campaigns with this Game Master and their flair for immersive worlds and multi-layered storytelling all with plenty of room for roleplay and creativity never fails to impress me. There are too many amazing moments to count, but one of my favourite would be learning that the very noble we had worked so hard to save had been the Big Bad all along, a real wham moment for sure! Highly recommend if you like a tactical challenge but also enjoy a rich story and roleplay potential.

I've played at least a dozen games ran by this GM over the years, and they have an incredible attention to detail for world building as well as adapting their stories to different genre settings and rpg systems. Always there to teach you how to play a new system, so very helpful if you are interested in branching out and learning new games.

Bitter puts so much work into designing a unique world and characters that have connections with each other. He loves tabletop rpgs more than anything else and puts 100% effort even into shorter campaigns. He will customize games and help build characters with the players in mind. He is very welcoming and inclusive. He makes sure everyone at the table is having fun. He lets your character do crazy things sometimes if it would be fun or good for the story, but also knows the rules like the back of his hand and won't let the game de-rail into something that doesn't make sense. My favorite DM!
