About Stark

I've been in love with D&D and ttrpg's since I was a kid, but I grew up in a small, rural town, and none of my friends were interested in D&D; I know what it's like to not have a DM/GM and want to play so badly! I wanna give others that fulfillment and entertainment. I'm familiar with several kinds of systems, and have years and years of experience both as a player and as a (mostly) forever-DM. And if you crave a campaign set in Star Wars? Then I'm your guy!

How Stark runs games

My GM style could best be described as Substance over Detail; the characters and story are the focal point, while the system rules should be strongly considered, but overlooked now and again. I'm pretty solid with improvising off the cuff, and I've got a fair bit of range with doing voices. I'm REALLY big on the ambience, and will use sound effects and background music when possible. I likewise want players to expect to each bring a degree of roleplay to the game, but we're here for a good time, and sometimes that means a relaxed approach and engagement. As far as content for the campaigns goes, as aforementioned, it's for fun, so sometimes the subject matter can be dark where warranted, but certain subject matters that are probably be too distressing for players will be avoided, with a group consensus. That's majorly important: that everybody is on the same page with everything. Beyond that, I'm fluid and loose with what the players want; but one thing players should not expect is a hardcore min-max'ing adventure; I'd rather feed into the creativity, not obsessing over perfect builds with highest efficacy ratings.
