About me

Hi! Some of you might know me as a part-time field paleontologist who specializes in the recovery and preparation of fossils, and making sure construction crews don't accidentally dig up mammoths. You might have even seen me on the History Channel, or maybe on NatGeo digging up mammoths in Siberia, or a bunch of other shows talking about dead stuff or different catastrophic ways the world can end. More importantly though, my true focus is on my other, 40-year old passion: role-playing games. In addition to being a professional DM, I am also a cast member of Negative2Charisma's 40's Noir-inspired D&D 5e campaign A Sinner's Dream as Mack Belmont, the Minotaur Gunslinger, as well as the paleontology consultant and dinosaur creator for the new primeval D&D 5E campaign setting Plangea from Atlas Games, and the Creative Director of the upcoming Official D&D Hockey Jersey line from GeekyJerseys. I have been the DM for numerous one shots and campaigns on Negative 2 Charisma, Perception Studios, Open Circuit Studios, as well as a bunch of games benefitting charities from NAMI, to Cancer Awareness, to Jasper's Game Day. I believe TTRPGs are a chance to tell the character's stories, the dice are the plot twists, and I'm simply the book binding. What stories do you want to tell?

GM Style

Role-Play - (ˈrōl-ˌplā) variable noun: the act of imitating the character and behavior of someone who is different from yourself transitive verb: to act out the role of; to represent in action I believe in telling stories. In a collaborative storytelling experience, however, conflicts and plot twists happen. I use a balance of dice and dialogue. That doesn't mean combat and skills aren't crunchy. The great thing is that due to my years of experience, I can adapt from style to style. What do you need? Let's do it.
