About Stumpy Joe

About Me: Started playing with the early blue basic book, got hooked, and quickly consumed the Players Handbook, Dungeon Masters Guide, and Monster Manual. DM-ed through AD&D, 2nd Edition, and 3/3.5, skipped 4th, and have been running 5E since. Most of my experience has been running campaigns in the Forgotten Realms. I love me some Waterdeep action, and I can't wait to share it with you! I'm an old GenXer, my bent runs left of center, and I welcome diversity at my games. The Golden Rule is Priority #1, followed closely by the Rule of Cool. Apart from potions taking a bonus action to consume, I don’t plan on using any house rules—those kinds of changes will be discussed and approved by the players before being implemented. All you need is a free Roll20 account, a free Discord account (you don't have to use video, but it's helpful), and a readiness to sally forth! We'll work out all the technical details during Session 0, and create your character in the Roll20 Character Builder, transforming your gelid mass of idea goo into a battle-ready adventurer ready for action. Don't worry if you're new to either the game or the technology--I can guide you every step of the way. We were all noobs at one point... So go ahead and let me know about that special character you’ve always wanted to play—I’m open to just about anything and will work with you to ensure your background integrates smoothly into the game, with a REAL impact on the story line! What I Bring to the Table: * 40+ years of DM and player experience (voices courtesy of radio broadcast/production experience and misspent youth as a wise-ass) * Roll20 Pro account with sharable content (PH, DMG, MM, Sword Coast, Xanathar, Tasha) * Ready access to nearly ALL published official D&D content (through owned material and 5e Tools) * High quality maps, handouts, sound, FX, and whatnot * Dedicated Discord server * Commitment to creating a fun, memorable, and welcoming game for EVERY player Game Environment: Rated R for gore, violence, language, substances, scary images, epic battle action, spontaneous decapitation, spiritual discombobulation, screaming meemees, IBS, and that weird fog that turns people inside out. As far as safety tools go, I'm happy to discuss needs or expectations during Session 0 (or any other time). While we're all (relatively) well-adjusted adults, understand that any and all "mature themes" stuff will happen off screen. You know what I'm talking about.
