About me

I'm a passionate dungeon master who loves the transformative power of stories and how they connect us to each other. I'm also a fervent believer in making tables as accessible as possible! Being a queer DM myself, I welcome new players and traditionally silenced players to my table to add their voice to the stories we weave. I use a variety of safety and accesibility tools, as well as operating a tabletop community discord where we welcome feedback and actively engage in change when it's needed. I hope you join me, and I can't wait to see you!

GM Style

I am a hombrew setting and roleplay-focused DM with tactically involved combats where the story permits it. In terms of roleplay, I love a good social puzzle and find that my players (including you!) tend to be very good at either finding the intended or an alternative solution. With regards to combat, I prefer high-stakes combat with heavy hitter enemies because I think "mob combats" can turn into turn-based trenches that can make players zone out. I try to do a variety of voices, but my VA work could be better. I always play with as many immersive tools as possible to keep you engaged, and try to create fun and engaging stories centered around you and your shared backgrounds.

Thorne was my first introduction to D&D. He invited me to my first game. Helped me in building a character from scratch a few hours before the game, too. Though my steadfast refusal at learning anything prior to playing (an implicit act, for the sake of my character), Thorne made it incredibly easy to get into the game and made it a very fun experience right from the get go. With an undeniably ability for storytelling and more than a fair share of theatricality, I know, and greatly look forward to, all of the future games I will get to play with this wonderful GM.

Kind, actively takes player suggestions and makes serious changes based on a tool or rule to ensure that those suggestions happen. Such as, ensuring that players have the time and space to say what they want to do by doing things like "what is 'character name' doing/thinking/feeling right now?"

Sitting at one of Thorne's tables, players will very quickly appreciate how much Thorne values the tabletop not only as an opportunity for shared story, but also as a shared Living World. They're quick to flesh out any situation with immersive detail, and they welcome and integrate player contribution. That's not to say that Thorne's sessions devolve into murderhobo Calvinball -- rather, they're amazing at finding the core of what players find compelling about their own characters, and set up situations for those players to find rewarding roleplay. To any player looking for a table where their character's uniqueness will shine, and for players who want to deeply immerse themselves in a world that breathes and moves around them, I cannot recommend Thorne highly enough!

Thorne's games are the most fun you'll have at a ttrpg table! Their stories are incredibly deep, complex, fun, and engaging. I highly recommend playing with them if you're looking for a new group!
