About Jay (Sow.v8)

Ey, what's up. I've been GMing D&D on an (almost) weekly basis for about 7 years now. I'm a huge fan of narrative driven games with high emotional ties to characters and impactful moments to both the players and the world. I like a table in which we can have equal amounts of lighthearted and serious social interactions, and cool combats. I also love GMing for brand new players to D&D and/or ttrpgs in general. Hit me up if you wanna to join into an ever growing world in which each our stories come into play, or if you want me to run something in an official book!

I became a GM because

I love telling stories, and there is something truly magical about telling a story in this format. It's not just the DM's story, even when I dictate what the story is, I can never really know where the story is going and there is little more interesting to a storyteller.

I got started GMing...

After my father bought me and my sister the 4th Starter set. For the first few years of having it, we were too young and didn't really understand what it was about. But eventually fished it out of my closet and decided to give it a whirl for some friends and i. Have been DMing ever since.

How Jay (Sow.v8) runs games

I like a balanced style of both roleplay and combat, but I think overall it all comes down to the story that is taking place. If the story we tell is all about combat, we are gonna have a lot of combat. If our story requires a lot of roleplaying, or mystery solving, or just messing around in cities, then that's the game we are playing!
