About me
Hi everyone, I'm Bug! I'm a pro DM who has been running successful games for the better part of 5 years now. My number one priority is that everyone enjoys the experience that we will create together. You don't have to be a voice actor, or have the Player’s Handbook and Dungeon Masters Guide memorized, but I do prefer to play with people who are kind, LGBTQ+ friendly, patient, and willing to help others on their character's journey through their story (even if that means saying nothing while two other characters have a moment). I do sometimes use short but graphic descriptions of violence on occasion, and the games I run are definitely rated M, but I strive to keep things reasonable without going overboard. Any sexual acts (if they happen) will always fade to black and take place 'off camera.' Now I know what some of you are thinking: "$30 a week?! For D&D?!" Crazy, right? Tbh, I wish I could run for free, but with as much time and effort that I put into our games, my wife would kill me if I wasn't getting paid what the experience I provide is worth. Having participated in a few other pay to play games myself, I'm confident this is a fair price considering what you as a player receive in return. I should add that I'm not perfect, I will definitely make mistakes and when I do absolutely please do point them out. I screw up sometimes, and am always trying to improve as a DM. All I ask is that once we've discussed something and reached a ruling as a group, we stick with it. I've provided some references below (with more on the way), and hope we can play together soon! "One of the most imaginative and talented DMs I've had the pleasure of playing with! Provides an incredible gameplay experience, masterfully weaving characters into a living, breathing world full of intrigue and mystery." "The amount of detail and work put into Bug’s open world is astounding! I’m always reeling and wondering what’s going to happen next!" "It doesn't matter which npc you talk to, Bug has a story for them. Throws emotional gut punches like a prime heavyweight..." "Top ten reason I love Bug as a DM in no particular order: He is funny He doesn’t railroad He weaves backstory into story He drives roll 20 real good Always willing to talk Doesn’t let you stay stuck too long Will let you make all the stupid choices you want Balances rules and enjoyment He’s got voices, lots of voices Balances RPG and combat"
GM Style
I LOVE RP! There's nothing I enjoy more than creating three-dimensional NPCs for player's to interact with, and voice acting for these folks is one of my favorite things to do. As a GM, I try to balance RP and combat, but sometimes there may be whole sessions where no one draws a weapon, or sessions where the only dialogue is battle cries. I don't like throwing combat in for no reason (unless you get drunk and punch a barkeep, tavern brawls are part of the fun of D&D!) and prefer that it make sense for the story, but when it does happen expect to be in for a fight. If you're a player who focuses on crunching the numbers for an OP 'build' I don't think I'm the GM for you. But if you've got an idea for a character that you want to flesh out like a real person, with hopes, dreams, and fears, we can worry about their stats once we know who they are and who they might become...if they survive! Character death is a thing, and I tend to keep resurrection as something you have to go on an epic quest for, not a service you can just get at your local temple on the corner.
