About me

Hello there! My real name is Bruno. Roleplaying is dear to me: I cannot imagine my life without roleplaying of some kind. I've been running tabletop games since I was a teenager so I've hit the quarter-century milestone last year. I've also been organising LARP venues for about half that time. I love to read, enjoy gaming both at the kitchen-table and online. Throughout my life, roleplay has broadened my own horisons, helped me through some rough times and given me many valuable experiences. Most importantly, it has rewarded me with life-long friendships. I think of myself as an open-minded storyteller and the two words there are of equal importance to me. I prefer the term storyteller; I love to bring people into a world that they bring to life and can truly expierence. I always love to describe roleplaying as becoming a character in a book or a movie. It's easy to be an armchair critic, but what would you do if fiction became reality? If your life or the lives of those dear to you really depended on it? Would you open the door to see what those strange noises are? Or would think of something different when under pressure? When I'm able to transfer those feeling from character to player, thats when I know I'm doing a good job. To me, character development does goes beyond improving numbers on a sheet, a character can only come to life when it too learns to overcome challenges, whatever they might be. This is why being open-minded is also of equal importance. Roleplay allows stepping into shoes that are different then your own offering different or alien perspectives. Playing a character can be both comfortable and challenging: of course who does not want to be Sam or Frodo? Faultless heroes with epic friends. But what about Boromir? Or even Gollum? They too are integral parts of the same tale without whom the story would diminish. Relationships, trauma, loss, redemption... These are just some examples of things that deepen a character and differentiate it from being just an avatar. Roleplay is not the same as an MMO or an action game. Its spending time in a different universe with wonderous and terrible things to encounter, an adventure with real stakes and consequences. Its a journey about both exploration and self-discovery. I offer gaming experciences to both new and experienced players, encourage role-play over roll-play and aim to be inclusive to everyone, no matter where you come from, who your loved ones are or what pronouns you prefer. Besides running your game you can expect the following from me as your storyteller: 1) Run your game in a professional manner. I will admit that the foundry VTT platform is relatively new to me so there might be some 'teething' problems on that front, but I'm learing fast. 2) I will challenge, encourage and coach you if you so desire. 3) Offer a mature aproach to adult themes in the game. 4) I am available for a talk or a chat when necessesary. I love roleplay, bring developed NPC's with their own backgrounds and motives. I write all my own materials and tend to create "realistic" worlds where combat is dangerous and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.
