About Scotty B
Hello, adventurers! I'm Scotty B! My love of tabletop roleplaying games began when I was ten years old, playing alongside my older brothers and sister. I was immediately captivated by the idea that, with a little imagination and a handful of dice, we could become larger-than-life heroes (or perhaps not-so-heroic villains!), explore fantastic worlds, and create unforgettable stories together. Decades later, that sense of wonder has never left me. Outside of Dungeons & Dragons, I'm a professional musician, educator, and audio engineer. I've discovered that these skills blend wonderfully with my passion for Dungeon Mastering, allowing me to create immersive, cinematic adventures that bring fantasy worlds to life. What can you expect at my table? I love every aspect of D&D, from exciting tactical combat and dangerous dungeon crawls to engaging roleplay, intriguing mysteries, and memorable interactions with colorful NPCs. My games feature fully animated battle maps, dynamic spell effects, atmospheric music and soundscapes, and a wide variety of NPC voices, sometimes enhanced through voice-modulation software. But for me, the real magic of D&D isn't the technology. It's the stories we create together. I believe the best adventures are those in which your character matters, your choices have consequences, and the world responds to your actions. Whether you're negotiating with a suspicious noble, uncovering an ancient evil, or desperately trying to survive a battle against overwhelming odds, I want you to feel like you're truly part of a living, breathing world. I also genuinely enjoy helping new players discover D&D! As an educator, I understand that learning a new game or virtual tabletop can feel intimidating. I'll happily guide you through the rules, character creation, and technical aspects of online play so you can concentrate on having fun. I've been fortunate to share years of adventures with wonderful groups of players, many of whom have become good friends. Creating those friendships and memories is one of the things I treasure most about being a Dungeon Master. Whether you're rolling your very first d20 or you're a seasoned adventurer looking for your next great campaign, there's a place for you at my table. So gather your gear, ready your spells, and join me. Let's create some stories worth telling!

How Scotty B runs games
My GM style is built around one simple philosophy: the players are the heroes of the story, and their choices should matter. I love creating immersive, living worlds filled with memorable NPCs, intriguing mysteries, exciting adventures, and meaningful consequences. I listen carefully to my players, encourage creative thinking, and adapt the story to their decisions. Some of the most memorable moments in D&D happen when players do something completely unexpected, and I love bringing those moments to life! I enjoy all aspects of Dungeons & Dragons, from rich, character-driven roleplaying and exploration to exciting, challenging tactical combat. Whether your ideal game emphasizes storytelling, thrilling battles, or a healthy balance of both, I strive to create an experience that reflects the interests and playstyles of everyone at the table. My combat encounters can be dangerous, but I believe they should always be fair. I reward clever tactics, teamwork, creative problem-solving, and thinking outside the box. Likewise, I encourage players to develop their characters' personalities, motivations, and backstories, finding opportunities to weave those elements into the larger adventure. Above all, I believe D&D is a collaborative experience. I strive to maintain a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive table where everyone has a voice, everyone has an opportunity to shine, and we can create unforgettable stories together.
Scotty B's ideal table
My ideal table consists of 4–5 players, with a maximum of 6, so that everyone has an opportunity to participate, contribute to the story, and enjoy their moments in the spotlight. I love playing with people who embrace the collaborative spirit of Dungeons & Dragons. The best adventures happen when players work together, celebrate one another's successes, and take a genuine interest in the characters and stories unfolding around them. I welcome creative characters with unique personalities, motivations, flaws, and even conflicting viewpoints! A little disagreement between characters can lead to wonderful roleplaying opportunities. However, I do ask that everyone create a character who has a reason to work with the party and contribute to its shared goals. Your character can be a lone wolf by nature, but they should still want to be part of the pack! I encourage creative thinking, good-natured humor, and players who are willing to share the spotlight. Whether you're an experienced adventurer or rolling your very first d20, what matters most to me is that you're respectful, engaged, and interested in making the game enjoyable for everyone. Above all, I'm looking for players who understand that D&D isn't about winning the game or being the main character. It's about creating an unforgettable adventure together, where everyone gets their chance to shine!
