About me
D&D is great, and I love to teach new players great table manners to welcome more people into the community of TTRPG's. That said, there are also SOOOOO many other great games as well, and my dream is to someday have gotten to run over 1,00 different systems! If you've got a special request, let me know. I have a fairly extensive collection, with a looot of indie titles in my library. Whatever the genre, whomever the players, whenever available, I am (almost) ALWAYS up for a game. So, come, pull up a chair, pour out some dice, and let's roll!
GM Style
Well-versed in Improv, Rule of Cool, and the difference between Rules as Written and Rules as Intended, I think of myself as a fair and forgiving GM. I have experience as a teacher and love to get new players into the hobby, but I am also not one for toxicity at the table. I do voices, heavy on the Roleplay side, interesting characters, and a living world that will keep growing and changing as the game goes on. Combat is usually quick and its difficulty will depend heavily on how cleverly Player Character's approach it.

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Storytelling
Creativity
Rule of Cool
Played (and still occasionally play) a long term campaign with him for 3+ years. He really, REALLY knows his stuff, be it the generic "everyone knows this stuff" content, down to the "why would ANYONE know this?" stuff. He takes the time to really engage with every player in a meaningful way and doesn't choose favorites: if you're at his table, you better be ready to play and be a major component to whatever is going on. There are no spectators, and no gamer gets left behind: he is easily one of the most inclusive GM's I've ever played with, and his table is a compelling and engaging space for everyone; the newest, day one players, down to the most seasoned and hardcore TTRPG fans. THE PROS: - Immaculate, well thought out world-building. Playing in a module? Prepare to have every scene and every sequence narrated and brought to life in a way that nobody could ever teach you to replicate just from the pages of the manual. Playing something entirely homebrew? I hope you're ready for complex, lovingly crafted scenery, backstory, and hidden meaning to anything and everything you may encounter. - The freedom to "get weird". Scott not only allows, but vehemently encourages player creativity, be it in the creation of your character, the development of your backstory, or even the most mundane decisions in the game itself. The rule of cool is law at his table, hand in hand with ensuring that everyone is having as much fun as possible. You want to fashion a bomb out of rudimentary adventuring supplies and use it to decimate an entire cavalry regiment? 'Gonna take some great rolling but, yeah, that can happen. Want to be the descendant of an arch-fey and also a servant of their nemesis to justify why you are somehow a cleric/warlock/paladin? Yep, we can do that too. Anything goes in the name of fun, and the more creative you are, the better. You can always express yourself, and always ALWAYS get weird. - You are the story. Scott does not railroad or force player choices. Have you been presented with an enticing hook about the goblins living in a nearby cave that are kidnapping the village's children, but you instead choose to go build your own tavern constructed entirely out of elk intestines? Weird, but he will definitely allow you to do that, just remember that those goblins ain't gonna stop for you! Player freedom and storytelling expression is paramount, and he will more than happily sacrifice (but still manage to meaningfully incorporate) his own plot hooks to allow you to play the game the way you want to play it, while still maintaining a cohesive and meaningful overall structure. (Please don't make a tavern out of intestines, I swear I was only joking). - Scott is a professional actor, writer, and game designer. He brings the world to life through varied and unique NPCs (equipped with a myriad of voices, personalities, and other interesting tidbits) that will constantly be woven into the fabric of the universe that you get to create together. Every person that you encounter feels really and truly alive, and it really demonstrates how passionate he is about the art of storytelling and the beautiful chaos of TTRPG games. - You will make some of the dumbest and most beautiful memories you've probably ever made at a gaming table playing around his. Even the most mundane choices can be made interesting with the way he designs his stories, from minute one until the final, tasty climax. The long campaign of his that I played in ended several years ago, yet I can still recall distinct moments from the HUNDREDS of hours spent playing at his table because of the way he brings even the stupidest player choices to life. THE CONS: - You are expected to put as much effort into the game as he puts into designing it; it's only common courtesy. He puts his blood, sweat and tears into designing and cultivating a gaming space, and he is more than willing to speak his mind if he (or anyone at the table) is being disrespected in any way. - Scott is quite eccentric in terms of his personality, vocabulary, and mannerisms. He's really like an RPG character brought to life in the real world, and at a first exposure, this can be sort of intimidating for some people. I remember the first time I ever met him that I was a bit taken aback by how unashamedly himself that he is, and that sort of self-comfort and confidence is infectious. Give it time, I'm sure you'll grow to appreciate his unique eccentricity and flair. - Scott will 100% speak his mind at all times. Are you doing something disruptive or harmful to gameplay? He will not hesitate to call you out or challenge you on it. He's a natural leader, and does not feel shy or awkward when it comes to speaking his mind, even in situations that would make other people feel uncomfortable or awkward. Scott is very opinionated and very passionate about his stance on certain topics and behaviors and this, much like the last point, can be extremely intimidating for those not accustomed to his style. But again, trust me, just give him some time: the interior is quite cuddly and friendly, I promise! All in all, I've personally played with more gamemasters than I can really remember, and by far Scott is my favorite of them all. I cherish the time I got to spend at his table, and I'd kill to be able to do it long-term again. If you find yourself in a position to take a seat at the table of this absolute master, definitely do it. It's a wild ride you're sure to never forget.
