About Sabari (Gnome)
This is a call for heroes (or anti-heroes), both seasoned and new! Prepare to be enthralled by an unforgettable D&D experience, weaving years of expertise and passion into every session. My name's Sabari (Gnome to some) and I've been a passionate DM since I was about 11 years old --- drawing world maps with pencil and paper, and making odd voices at my friends, while my mom poked her head through the door to see what the hell was wrong with us. I played D&D through high school, college, and beyond, and now, years later, a serious and mature lawyer, husband, and father, I am at it again! I've graduated from paper and pencil to using all the modern online TTRGP tools we have available today to create our games (Foundry VTT, battle-map makers, digital images, music, and more). But nothing has changed about the spirit of the game. We are still here for a meaningful and fun game of adult make-believe. I'm offering: ✔️Experience & Expertise: I'm an experienced game master, bringing years of honed storytelling, character weaving, and meticulous world-building to every session. ✔️Professional Edge: Consistency, reliability, and balance are your guarantees. I treat each game with the respect it deserves, ensuring every session is as polished as I can make it. ✔️Costumized Haven: Uniquely crafted world teeming with custom lore, creatures, and challenges. No predictable stat blocks and endless possibilities for your character creation - You are more than welcome to help/add your own creations to the world. ✔️Strict with a Smile: Fairness and clear rules are important, but not at the expense of fun. Together, we'll masterfully create a world where challenge, tension, and enjoyment go hand-in-hand. ✔️Communal Enjoyment: Laughs, excitement, and genuine connection are the cornerstones of any good game. I'd like us all to get to know each other, make sure we feel comfortable, which in turn creates an inclusive, friendly environment - the hallmark of true D&D.

I became a GM because
I f--king love it. I love all the characters that my players ever created, I love the world we create together, and I love the unknown quality each game and each player can bring. I love creating the canvas on which we can draw together.
I got started GMing...
When I was roughly 11 or 12... As I was the only one obsessed enough to sit at home and create worlds, creatures, maps, storylines, mechanics, and everything I could think of to bring worlds into life... (I think the first creation I can remember was the TMNT statblocks as playable characters :D)
When I'm not running games I'm...
Taking care of my 3 kids, doing some legal work when I can, cleaning, cooking, etc. But whenever I have time... GMing, GMing, and some... GMing!
How Sabari (Gnome) runs games
My passion is running a unique setting filled with possibilities and a tangible feeling of a living, lived-in world. However, I am equally adept at adapting published campaigns to make them feel just as realistic and deeply rooted. I love incorporating my players' stories and choices into the overarching narrative, ensuring the characters you create are impactful and meaningful to our story. I've learned to easily balance between high-immersion roleplay sessions and tactical combat-heavy sessions. This balance is determined by the specific game and the group I'm running for, ensuring the experience matches the game's published style. I run different games for different groups, so please check how the game you're joining is published and message me if you have any questions. My consistent lean is towards immersion and realistic roleplay as much as possible. This approach leads, in my experience, to a more rewarding storytelling, to a feeling you've earned your "wins" (or "losses"), and to a more meaningful and lasting impact of our combined games/tales on all of us.

I deal with rules issues by...
talking... I like hearing from the players. Sometimes they've valuable viewpoints I did not consider. However, unless it is crucial, I make it brief, concise, and move along. We can make a final ruling going forward between sessions.
I prep by
endlessly working and evolving my NPCs, locations, dungeons, villains, and skills. You can check out some of my homebrew world here: https://app.kanka.io/w/suriel Other than that, just verifying I've my ducks in a row for next session. Maps, tokens, music, if the group likes it, and... Action!
My games focus on...
what the group desires. As we progress, I learn what each group loves. I've run combat-focused games or RP-heavy games where we didn't roll initiative for sessions. When a group loves lore, I've much of that to provide. I try to tailor the game to the group, not the other way around.
Sabari (Gnome)'s ideal table
I just love this game so much. I love tactical combat groups, I love heavy RP groups. I love groups that want lore and embed their characters in the world. More than anything (and thank god that I've been blessed with such players), I love players who are engaged with the game, and whatever makes them giddy.
