About me

Hi! I'm Roy, a voice actor living in sunny Florida. I've been playing ttrpgs for about 15 years, including DnD 3.5, Star Wars, Warhammer, Pathfinder 2e, and my favorite of all: DnD 5e! I've been a dedicated DM of 5E games since 2015, playing in-person with my local group every week for years (until the pandemic). I still can't get enough of the game and so I want to branch out and play with more lovely people. I love role-playing the wide cast of NPCs that show up in different adventures (especially a good villain!) and I would love to help bring your game to life. I run games over discord, using Foundry and DnDBeyond. I have subscriptions to cover usage and source materials for my players. Fees go towards paying those costs, as well as commissions for artists when needed. I look forward to meeting you and seeing if we'd be a good fit to game together.

GM Style

I'm the judge, not the adversary. The game is about you exploring your heroic story and I'm here to facilitate that by providing a fun, safe space to enjoy. I believe combat and exploration should be challenging but not impossible or frustrating, after all the players are the heroes of the story. Failures happen sometimes, but they should serve as a moment for the players to pick themselves up, readjust, and overcome the obstacles in their way. As a DM I try to approach situations from a mindset of enabling the players to make their decisions and feel like their decisions have meaning. I love role-playing all the different characters you'll meet in the game. We can get into character as much as you like, but some things like shopping can mostly be done out of character. I try to incorporate backstory into the campaign, but if you just want to adventure that's ok too Most importantly, the game is supposed to be fun. If it's not fun, then what is the point? So the biggest thing is flexibility. If needed, can I do something different to make the game more fun for you? Absolutely. I do my best to make the game fun and engaging for everyone at the table, but that only goes so far in creating a great game. Players should be invested too. Can you be flexible to accommodate your fellow players? Cooperation and a "Yes And" spirit are key to a great game, so as long as we're all giving it our best we'll have a great time. :) My playstyle won't be for everyone, and that's ok. But if I sound like someone you'd enjoy playing with, then send me a message and let's get to know each other over some dice rolls.
