About me

I got hooked at a young age of 7. Never knew what really went on with my first session, besides the encounter with a green dragon. Trying to get us to be his peon. And this was 30 years ago. My friends older brother was the DM. I can remember the set of encounter cards he had and how amazing they looked! So my struggle began with a longing for something I knew nothing about. At age 11 my aunt got me a starter set of 4th Ed MTG cards. Had no idea about it nor ever heard of it. I sat in the hall upstairs at my Gmas house and taught myself how to play against myself… I looked for more after I got the feel for it. Which let me to a local game store. I tell you what I was the most thrilled geek in the world at that moment, I had found 2nd ED Ad&D merchandise. Picked up a set of dice (black with red specks) A PHB and forgot all about magic. I grew up in a very small town and my friend and his family w/the brother who adventures had moved away. There was no one who knew or really wanted to play. However I was bound to play this game I’ve dreamt of. So I got a couple friends and we rolled up some very primitive and basic characters. Since I was the one who wanted to play and had at least read the book. (I really don’t think I ever actually read the book. Lol 😂) Was the chosen DM. Since then I’d lose that book and others I’d acquired along the way. To where I had a basic world going after years. I was a very harsh DM In the beginning. Or maybe not I don’t know many DMs. But I would always give out lightning bolts to people who basically were murder hobo bards with no charisma. Until He came along, Atraue The Purple Buffalo Hunter. A heavy flail and shield fighter dwarf. Oh how I tried and tried to kill this Dwarf. But around lvl 8 in 2nd edition Atraue Stonearm The Purple Buffalo Hunter forever scared and twisted would retire. So as kids our characters were on school book paper all written out. The best place we could think for them to be safe was our wallets. So the Dwarf was the only one to survive and when we started 3.5 I was so mad I made him NPC status. My world grew and grew with each session molding it with the story of the PCs and their choices with a push in the right direction from me. We took another hiatus until 5e came out. I looked it over and was in love again, it reminded me so much of old school dnd that I had to get the boys together. 5e was so simple yet leaves you open to do whatever with your character. That we started working on the world again. I allowed my friend to pull this 10 + year old piece of paper from his wallet and we converted him to 5e. Oh and know oh and now…The Immortal Atraue Stonearm Dragonslayer Hunter of Purple Buffalo was our first character to ever reach max lvl. And is now a Demi-god of Kord fairly becoming his own God in the world that people worship. Now 10,000 Years later in this world I want to create a new one. Which will have a basis from the years I created the original. I want the players to help me create this world just by playing their characters. I like when people make choices, and from those choices I create! Anything could happen at anytime! Like throwing a cloak over the eyes of a basilisk right before your Dwarven companion petrifys. Leaving just his left arm (his shield arm) up to the elbow, turned to stone including his shield. But that’s what happens when you see a 6 legged lizard staring right at you. And the only thing you come up with is (in best dwarven low gruff voice) “I stare right back” then proceed to fail your first save. Thank Hexsin for party members. So if you want a drop and go style sessions where the world your characters in keeps evolving. Even when you miss a session. And have different party members for each session. And help this new world grow! As your character grows! Who knows maybe your will be the next King, Tyrant, Infamous Assassin, Lich, or even Demi-God. Then come create with me. I promise I don’t lightning bolt a players characters to death 5+ times in a session Anymore!!! 😎
