About me

I am a Dad and Husband, writer and game designer who loves role-playing games. I have been playing D&D since the hoary days of 1st edition AD&D. I am 56 years old and have been a professional GM (paid in drink, good food as well as great friends) for 43 years. I hardly know everything and always am surprised by the innovative and creative thinking of the players to puzzles and problems. I joined Start Playing to continue to do what I love, weave great stories in a fantastic universe that I have built over the last 40 years. I prefer running homebrew because well my world AGAYA is homebrewed on the blood and knowledge of the ancients. I was there when the red and blue boxes dropped...lol. I have run Vampire the Masquerade, Rifts, Palladium Fantasy and a slew of other games that have disappeared over the decades. Oh so many games in those halcyon days of gaming. I am a bit old school in my gaming. Deaths occur. But Death isn't always permanent unless the player and I agree that it should be. I am more a theater of the mind, immersive player. I don't do voices. I enjoy helping new players learn the ropes and the table motto is "Games tells stories". Players share stories about their characters, good and bad, I enjoy helping making those stories. I look forward to inviting players into the AGAYA Universe to build on the rich lore and mythos. I play campaigns with occasional one-off adventures. But I always complete the games I start.

GM Style

I prefer theater of the mind style, (no I don't leave you floundering. I guide you.) I don't do voices (sorry). I do offer puzzles, riddles and a healthy dose of heroic/tactical combat and I try to end on a cliff hanger scene to hook you for the next go around. I don't coddle players, I give you enough rope to help or hang yourself by the choices you make in the role of your character based on the information I provide. I love to be surprised by players, it's OUR game after all, and I expect some level of interaction, so please don't leave me hanging.
