About me
Hello, I'm Penn! I've been running and playing tabletop for over 10 years now! I got my start with DnD 3.5e, then moved to DnD 5e. Ran a successful homebrew campaign for 5e that ran for 3 years and have been DMing ever since! I've run numerous systems over the years for friends and in living community settings. I am knowledgeable with Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, Cyberpunk Red, The Witcher, Lancer, and Mongoose Traveller 2nd Edition.
GM Style
For me, each campaign, one-shot, or game is unique and my style adapts to the needs of my players. I love to take a "Yes And" approach to GMing which allows me to play off my players. I've run a myriad of campaign styles from a long story driven adventure, to episodic missions with slice of life sessions sprinkled in. Each NPC of mine has a voice that is different from my narration voice, so it's easier to know when a NPC is talking over when I am talking. I tailor each game to the requests of the players and strive to keep it fun for all at the table. Prefer roleplay or story heavy games sessions? I got you covered. Prefer epic battles and treat it more like a game? I got you covered. Prefer a mix? I got that covered too. I can tailor the experience to your table and make sure it's a fun environment for all who play. Rule of Cool always has a home on my table, if there is not a rule for it but you wanna do something that will elevate the scene we can discuss what rolls are expected to make it happen and go for it! I am extremely ESL friendly, I've played with international players in a living community setting for two years.

Players say this GM is great at:
Knows the Rules
Creativity
Sets the Mood
He's been DM/GM for a good number of campaigns I have been a part of, across a wide sea of genres. Whether it was Traveler, Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Cyberpunk, Deadlands, ect...he knows his stuff. If you're looking for someone who throws themselves into the lore, you've found him. Beyond an encyclopedic understanding of the history of whichever universe you find yourself in, he also does his homework with settings and map creation to really draw you into the story. He strives to make sure the players are on the same page, and working towards a goal they are all comfortable with, ending sessions with a discussion (if there is time) to gauge the vibe and adjust the next session as necessary. Oh, here's a big one for any potential first-time players feeling a little nervous: no judgement on whatever level of role-play you're willing to engage in. Speak like you're talking to an AI controlling a dungeon crawler or adopt a persona complete with an accent that doesn't leave until the session ends or anything in-between, it doesn't matter; he will add his own personal level of engagement and a varied spectrum of character engagement will not phase him. If you're trying to convince a friend to join your game, he's a great option for DM/GMing a campaign that has both beginner and veteran players, able to explain both wide concepts and clarifying minutiae without derailing the roleplay or making a player feel like they are asking too many questions.
Penn's a very cool dude. I have had him as a GM for years now. He knows his stuff and allows the players to do what they want to do as long as it makes sense. He has awesome picks for soundtracks. Some of the best and most complex games I've played were GMed by him. He puts a lot of effort into it and you can tell. He was my first ever Cyberpunk RED GM and I absolutely loved it, very friendly guy all around.
Generous and very detail oriented GM. Is very open to suggestions and will do his best to make sure the board is ready with the right mood, effects, and BGM to make sure you are immersed. He can be easily reasoned with and understands a really unlucky roll can ruin a session. He definitely does his homework to make sure the gameplay and storytelling are smooth and will adapt to curveballs.
