About me
I've been told I'm a great teacher and seem to specialize in new players and acclimating them to online play. I've enjoyed D&D 5E since it launched. I love the simplified rules set and the fact that so many people are familiar with the game. I am slowly working my way into new games. You can expect a challenge from my games, with a 25,25,50 split between exploration, role-playing, and tactics. I find the best traps are the ones that players dig themselves into.
GM Style
I'm a very procedural DM. I have a process and a way of doing most things. I enjoy tactics and combat with 5E. I enjoy creating worlds and tailoring the monsters to fit the party. I try to keep it simple. I have enough moral ambiguity in my life without adding it to my games. My games are generally: challenge, reward, and or consequences. I do have a 30-year ongoing campaign in a living world called Dragons Run, but I mostly do modules for folks other than my family and friends.

Paul was one of the first DM’s I found when I started playing online. There is a reason I have stayed in his campaigns. He is both helpful and patient while at the same time delivering a fun and balanced game. Update: I continue to play with Paul. I especially enjoy the custom tokens he will make for players, the additional maps he makes for encounters, but mostly, his monsters are smart and they use attributes and skills to win the encounter as if they were players. His goal is not to kill the party and the result is that each player must change strategies to meet challenge in front of them Update #2. I am deep in a new campaign with Paul: The balance with combat, story and RP is perfect. I am updating my review because Paul has been bringing great custom graphics into the game. Personal player tokens, maps, and monsters, etc….
We had a wonderful session 0 tonight. Everyone actually showed up early and Paul used the extra time to give us some great tips on how to use Roll 20 and on some of the rules. Once the scheduled time started, we all formally introduced ourselves, talked about our hopes and expectations for the game, followed by our character backgrounds, and then got straight into the game. We all had a lot of fun even though we had varying levels of experience with DnD and roll20. We are looking forward to continuing the campaign over the next few months. I am so grateful to have found a wonderful new GM and gaming group.
