How Alex Benz runs games
As GM I find that the best way to get players engaged are the characters and story that you tell along the way. I know that as a GM I only control the story to a certain extent and prefer to give freedom to the players to move through the story or side quests in any manner that they choose. I like to tailor the way the game is ran to the players preference, whether that is making combat very difficult or easy, giving the players personal quests or sticking to the main story, or just making the role play or the combat the main focus. It's up to the group to decide how challenging the game will be!
