About me
Greetings Adventurers! I have been taking people on adventures since the dawn of the hobby. As a young man my DM was Len "Leomund" Lakofka and Nystul of Greyhawk's Circle of Eight was based on me. I have worked as a designer/developer for TSR, FASA and Mayfair and as a freelancer for many more, most notably Hero Games, West End Games and White Wolf. I designed the Whispering Vault and NUkED ttrpgs. I run a Mythic Sherwood campaign at Sherwood Forest Faire in Texas every season in a setting I designed specifically for them. These days I do a lot of consulting and corporate work but there is nothing I love better than rolling dice with fellow gamers.
GM Style
I do my best to keep things welcoming and inclusive. Whenever possible, events are player driven. I provide a foundation for your adventures but ultimately these stories are about your characters and their deeds. I'm rooting for you but I play fair so you know every victory is well earned. I'm an experienced stage and Improv performer but you don't have to be.

Malix Nystul is an amazing GM. He is great with all ages of players, from young ones to old ones, from those new to the game to those with lots of experience. He's great at making everyone at the table feel included. He does good voices and makes sure there is lots of role playing along with roll playing. And he loves D12s.
He has an amazing knack for making a random game with players at every skill level from never played to 30 year veteran come together and be fun for all. His world building skills are top notch. You wont find a better DM for younger kids anywhere - period - yet when the tables full of players with years of experience he can shift gears and have you riveted to the story and the action just the same.
I've played with Mike/Malix multiple times over the years. The stories are captivating, favoring the story and player involvement over strict rule adherence. However, he never loses the thread or lets the game go entirely off the rails, the sign of an experienced GM. He brings everyone in, young/old, new/experienced, and creates space for an adventure that you will treasure for a long time. Just ask the "Acting Captain" :D
Have played with for Nystul 20+ times onsite and in once in my home. He runs a fantastic engaging game that focus on player engaged storytelling. He has a fantastic grasp of whatever rule set he is running. He takes the time to be sure everyone at the table is comfortable. His understanding of the characters and player desires allows for them to be seamlessly included in the boarder game events. Definitely Recommend him for new and seasoned players. As a seasoned DM myself I have picked up a few tricks from him over the sessions.
