About Nat
I’ve been running Daggerheart for over a year, including a long-running campaign as well as a dozen introductory sessions and one-shots for both newer and more experienced players. I enjoy balancing roleplay, exploration, combat, and social encounters in each session, while creating a welcoming table for players of all experience levels. I take pride in helping newer players feel comfortable with both the rules and the roleplay, while giving experienced players the depth, agency, and freedom they’re looking for. As a GM, I prioritize collaboration and responsiveness. I love weaving character backstories into the larger narrative and creating moments that feel personal and memorable. When things inevitably go off-script, I embrace the improvisation and use it as an opportunity to keep the story dynamic and fun. My goal is always to create a table where players feel supported, engaged, and excited to see what happens next..

When I'm not running games I'm...
When I’m not running games, I love being outdoors. I started geocaching with friends, which led to longer hikes, backpacking, and eventually packrafting. I also run a small business, so life stays pretty busy, but I’m always up for a new adventure!
How Nat runs games
My GM style adapts to the players at the table, but I generally aim for a mix of social interactions, meaningful roleplay, exploration, and tactical combat. In combat, I like encounters where the enemies feel like actual characters rather than targets waiting to be defeated. They react to the players’ choices, use their surroundings, adapt to changing situations, and have their own goals and motivations. This helps make combat feel dynamic and keeps players thinking on their feet. Ultimately, I want my games to feel collaborative and responsive, where the players’ choices matter and the story can evolve naturally around them.

Rules are...
Rules are… meant to be played with! I’ll always lean toward Rule of Cool when it comes to player creativity. Want to attack a minotaur with a breadstick? Go for it. Want to talk down an unruly BBEG instead of fighting? I’m listening. If you can make it fun, I’m here for it!
When it comes to voices
I'm horrible at voices but you'll be experiencing them anyways. Laugh all you want.
Nat's ideal table
Fun, creative, and collaborative! I love having a mix of new and experienced players at my table, and I want everyone to feel comfortable jumping in and being themselves. Expect plenty of laughs, creative problem-solving, and the occasional moment where the party does something completely unexpected and I have to stare at my notes like, well I guess we’re doing this now, as I throw out my notes.

I love it when a player
Thinks outside the box to solve a problem, whether in combat or social encounters.
I think min/maxing...
I think min/maxing is totally fine! The game is about having fun, and if optimizing your character is how you have fun, go for it. I see it as a challenge to create encounters that are still interesting and engaging for everyone at the table
