About me

My love for this hobby started in grade school when I first read "The Hobbit" by J. R. R. Tolkien. It wasn't just the adventures, fights and the escapes from certain death that pulled me in. It was the interaction between Bilbo and Smaug (the most terrifying creature my 10 year old self had ever experienced). Smaug wasn't just a beast to be slain, they were this incredibly intelligent, terrifyingly massive dragon that could kill you with their claws, teeth, dragon breath or their intelligence just a fast. Smaug changed how I viewed villains from that point on. Once I found TTRPG's the rush of playing an adventurer was a very strong pull. I love building my character, leveling up and becoming stronger, finding amazing magic items and using them in creative ways that you just can not do in video games. But in all my time playing never did I feel that overwhelming sense of dread as I did all those years ago with Smaug. That's when I first felt the pull to become a DM. And I have found my place in this hobby. I love running games, testing players with puzzles, tactics and roleplaying opportunities. I love and enjoy players growing not just mechanically with their characters but growing as their characters. My goal is to give my players that same feeling of dread and then accomplishment as I did all those years ago reading "The Hobbit". So if that is the kind of game you are looking for, take a chance open that chest and let me be your Smaug.

GM Style

My GM style is flexible to my players. I have had roleplay heavy games where we have went entire sessions without combat. I have also had groups that were heavily focused on combat and roleplay was minimal. I feel my strongest attributes are listening to my players, improvising when the players change course out of the blue and weaving backstories / characters into the stories to make them more personal. My goal is to provide a safe, fair and enjoyable game for all of my players. Safety and Mental Heath are very important to me, as such there is no room in my games for bigotry or discrimination of any kind. Just know you can talk to me anytime, in game or out, if a situation comes up. By a fair game I mean, while I know a lot of the rules I don't know them all. And sometimes different editions can muddy up some rules. If there is ever a question, we will find the answer either in a book or though sage advice or common ground. I want the game rules to be fair and constant. By an enjoyable game I mean, I want you to get the most out of our time together. If you have ideas for your character and how you would like to see them grow, or if you like to work on backstories and want to weave them into this story let me know. You can never have too many ideas at your disposal.
