I found my first Players Handbook under the Xmas tree long before they started numbering the various editions of any of these games, and have been playing ever since. I started DMing regularly for family and friends ten years ago, and soon branched out to offering games online, first as a side hustle and then as a full-time occupation. I like to explore every pillar of game play and have a particular liking for mysteries and puzzles, but I certainly know when it;s time to roll dice and crunch monsters as well.
I try to ensure that all three pillars of game play (role play, exploration, combat) are represented in each game session, while tailoring the emphasis of each of these to the specific preferences of the players. I personally favor a tilt towards the role play/puzzle solving end of the spectrum, but do know to when it's time to roll dice and crunch monsters.
