I am a DM in his thirties. I have been DMing for ~6 years now. I exclusively run custom campaigns through a virtual environment (Roll 20), augmented by additional resources such as Discord or World Anvil. I am a firm believer in the rule of cool, so long as its understood that there are times where I as the DM can bend the rules so that everyone has a chance to enjoy the story that we build together.

GM Style

My style focuses on creating the environment where players collaborate to create a story. A big part of my planning is establishing the world and fleshing out the motivations of the characters within it, then being the adjudicator so that the world can react reasonably to the actions of the players. Part of the role that I play as the DM is the lens through which the players actually accomplish their interactions. For this, I default to a "yes, but..." in most cases, where I empower the players to do the action, but through the mechanics of the ruleset.
