About me

I love a good story, especially when I get to be a part of one. People game for many reasons, but for me, it's all about creating worlds and sharing unique stories. I have been actively DMing D&D 5e for over 5 years now, and I have yet to do a single "module" or pre-made campaign. Instead, I have poured hundreds upon hundreds of hours into writing, creating, and modifying one of a kind D&D experiences for my closest friends. When someone tries to sell you a book, movie, TV show, podcast, video game, or whatever, they're trying to sell you something as much of a "one size fits all" as possible--and there's nothing wrong with that! We get a lot of great content that way. But for me, it always feels like the story I'm being sold has been "done before" or is missing something that I desperately wanted it to have. What I think I bring to the table as a GM is that I am constantly seeking to create a unique game experience. I want to know what my players are into and tailor the game to their preferences. I want to make sure everyone has a chance to "do something cool" each session. I want players to walk away from the table surprised, exhausted, and eager for the next session. The rules are a great guidepost, but the most important "rules" for me is to tell the best story possible and make sure everyone is having as much fun as possible. So if you're a veteran D&D player looking for something out of the box, a wide-eyed newbie looking to learn a new game, or everything in between, I would be much obliged to be part of your adventure!

GM Style

Story is first and foremost. I want players to feel like they're in an epic adventure with high stakes that they actually care about. I would say I'm much more "Adventure Zone" than "Critical Role", though I do love both of them : ) I like sessions to have a balance between role play / character development, puzzle solving, and combat. The best sessions are when all three happen simultaneously. I love working with new players! Teaching is my first love, and I enjoy introducing the game in manageable bite-sized chunks. I also love working with players who've been around the block and are looking for something different.
