About me

Hi! I'm Meghan, known as Wishes on some Discord servers. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition for 9 years and I've been a DM for an in-person group of 9 players on a consistent weekly basis for 4 years. I have some experience with other TRPG systems and have enjoyed them immensely but DnD is my passion. It helped me overcome a lot of personal struggles I was going through and it is still a major source of joy for me every week. I hope to bring that same joy to others by leading a fun game with engaging stories. I love building a living breathing world with players and hope that collaborating with them helps to write an epic that they will retell with big smiles on their faces tomorrow and years from now too. I want to have a safe creative space that welcomes all players; respect and acceptance are necessary for that and I will not allow for anything less from players so that everyone can feel comfortable as they build and discover their characters together. No matter what our differences may be we all want to share in the great game of Dungeons and Dragons. Also, I am happy to help beginning players or people who are still uncertain about some things involving the game so don't let being new or nervous stop you from living the adventure you yearn for! I will be patient and happily explain anything you need from me as many times as you want.

GM style

As for my play style, I tend to run a more narrative driven game with a focus on roleplay but there are still combat encounters and puzzles to shake things up and make things exciting! And as far as how my rulings go, I believe that rules are valuable in a gaming environment but I also believe that at the end of it all The Rule of Cool is most important. There may be times I do things a little unorthodox for the sake of a cool character moment. Everyone having a good time is the end goal here and I believe that being flexible with things is a great way to accomplish that at times.
