https://www.malbeckettgaming.com/ What makes me different than other GMs? I have a degree in digital anthropology, for one. As a student of the American "school" of anthropology, I was taught the value of not judging other cultures by my own culture's standards. We call it cultural relativism, and it's something I try to live by. It also helps me with my worldbuilding to understand some of the basic things that make us humans, versus the things that seem to arbitrary and cultural by nature. Additionally, I have backgrounds in professional storytelling as a former apprentice of a local favorite storyteller, professional screenwriting, and am currently in my off time writing vertical dramas (those 1-2 minute dramas you watch from your phone). I am also as a storyteller very good at understanding an aesthetic or a subgenre. I can get the feel of a thing and recreate it, with some genre savvy humor on top. I am all about that story, and not so much about war simulation/minmaxxing or rules mongering. Sometimes I get the rules a bit mixed up due to my AuDHD. But I will always deliver a creative and expansive experience.

GM Style

It's all about the story. Come sit 'round the fire (or the table) and let's get one cooking. I'm not that into D&D or Pathfinder or wargaming in general. I can run combat, but I prefer it on PBTA or other story-based systems so it doesn't run slow as molasses. I like making up worlds and populating them with characters. I like it even more when we share in that together. Let's build something.
