I've been playing and Game Mastering TTRPGs since the 80s, though with a break in there of a few years to have and raise some kids -- but I got back into the hobby five years ago and been going strong ever since. I love the interactive creativity of the gaming table and always try to find or make lots of room for my players to tell their own stories, as that's what I find the best part of any game. I hold to the Three Rules of Good TTRP Gaming: 1) always say, "yes, and..."; 2) if it's cool and fun, it should probably be allowed to happen; and 3) everyone gets a chance to shine.

GM Style

I love a good bit of roleplaying and running interesting and involving, tactically-challenging combats in which the stakes are about more than earning the next batch of XP or loot. Exploration should be about finding the wonder and awe of a new and magical realm, and I actively encourage my players to become participants in this rather than passive viewers - you help create the world as we get to know it together! I throw myself into the NPCs I bring to the table, and work at every stage to open up space and time for the players to explore and tell their characters' stories. It's not just my game, it's the whole table's -- if somebody feels as though they've never had a time to shine, then I feel like that's my problem to solve. Rule Number One at my table: if it's fun and cool and makes the game more enjoyable for everyone, then we should probably let it happen.
