About Mabrouk
Hi! I'm Mabrouk (they/them), been GMing various TTRPGs for over 8 years now. I'm a worldbuilder at heart and tend to run games based on interlocking lore and histories. I love to build player immersion to the world by deeply connecting your characters to it, bringing the best roleplaying out of you naturally and comfortably. My favorite system of all Time is
Troika! The surrealist and non-euclidean nature of its world coupled with simple yet thorough mechanics have allowed me to run some of my favorite sessions in any TTRPG. I don't usually go for sci-fi, but sci-fantasy scratches a different itch.
When I'm not running games I'm...
- Designing my own game systems (check my Itch.io) - Playing board games - Writing poetry - In a Surrealist Trance of Introspection
How Mabrouk runs games
I run games that are focused on interplay rather than system mechanics. I have and will bend game mechanics to fit the world, lore, and your needs to make sure we're all having fun and staying with the themes. I enjoy and excel at running games that focus on lore friendliness, character ambitions, and major consequences. I write my own homebrew and am comfortable enough with various systems to allow you to come in with your own suggestions and shenanigans you want to test/play. I'm very strict with the safety tools, as I believe that's the best way to make sure everyone is comfortable. Lines will be held and veils will be shrouded.

I deal with rules issues by...
going with my guts. I have and will sacrifice the rules in service for a better game-feel. Rule discussions are great outside the moment-to-moment storytelling, but once we're in it, I prefer we remain immersed within.
My games focus on...
Emergent Gameplay Mechanics. Think of your favorite "Immersive Sim" and why it hits so good. You'll be given interesting tools and features, and you'll surprise me (and sometimes yourself) with the creative and unexpected scenarios we'll be put in.
