About me

I've been playing and GMing role playing games for over 30 years - anything from 1st edition AD&D to newer story-games such as Fiasco and The Quiet Year and so much in between. I regularly GM one shots at multiple conventions every year. You may have even sat with me at Gencon, PAX East, and PAX unplugged, where I run games with the group "Games on Demand". I am a very flexible, open and I like to think very fun GM to play with. I think that an RPG story involves everyone in the game, and not just the PCs - and DEFINITELY not just the GM's "plan". It is all about that collaborative shared space at the table that turns dice, paper, and imagination into pure magic that you just don't find anywhere else.

GM Style

Open, creative, collaborative, and dynamic. I enjoy a space and table at which everyone feels welcome to contribute to whats happening, not just in terms of what their character is doing, but adding to the larger world. I don't always adhere super strictly to the rules at all times - not for 'gaining advantage against the players (the very concept to me is absurd. It's not a competition) but rather for the sake of fluidity, and doing what makes sense in the moment. I might not be the right GM for you if you're looking for by the book all the time. I believe very strongly in the concept of "we play to find out what happens". There's no pre-destined end to anything. Where's the game going to go? I'm looking forward to finding out just as much as you are. Sure the dragon might be slain, the hostage rescued, the spy found out, or the heist succeeded - but none of us know how we're going to get there. And that's where the magic happens!
