About me

Who am I, exactly? A DnD player since age 6, I've had experience with many iterations of the game, from 2nd edition, 3rd, Pathfinder and to the present 5th edition. I've enjoyed making my own world spaces, as well as studying the lore of Zagyg extensively. I'm a trans/genderfluid gamer, who doesn't shy away from such topics at the table. With 22 years experience playing the game, I'd like to think this is my bread and butter. What's so special? I might appear to be a stickler for the rules, but sometimes the roleplay opportunities are just too good to pass up. I'm willing to work with my players to make a character or a scene come to life. I have some homebrew rules I think some players might appreciate, but hey, it's your worldspace too. We can take or leave them at the door at our leisure. Whatever is easiest. My biggest drawback? Sometimes my extensive knowledge from various editions blends like a wizard who's seen too many timelines @-@*. -Homebrew Crew

GM Style

While a stickler for the rules, I'm also interested in keeping the game moving, and players happy. "Roll for it" and "Rule of cool" are just some of the easy solutions I employ to keep us from slowing to a crawl. I love roleplay, and I love combat. Puzzles aren't really my forte, however I'm always flexible if you have clever solutions to a problem or obstacle.

Taya has a fabulous approach of teaching a brand new system with a fun adventure. She provided the perfect amount of rules and guidance to get started. Taya taught the mechanics of the system as the session unfolded. She had engaging NPCs and drew us into the story with investigation, role play, and a perfect amount of lore to make the world seem real--I wanted to learn more about it. I'd love to play in another game with this GM.

Taya is a profoundly funny, energetic, and focused GM. Playing a Game I had only heard about a week before, she was patient and thorougj in explaining the rules and managed to do so in a way that gameplay was enhanced instead of impacted. Because I felt comfortable to try different things in a game I barely knew, I had an amazing time. She has an almost effortless ability to switch between description and dialogue, pr switch between character modes to simulate conversation. I legitimately hung on her words at times, I cannot count how many times I exclaimed "Oh No!" between bouts of laughter at an npc antic or a perfectly timed response by her. If you like fun, especially the fun of trying new things and feeling safe in doing so, look no further.

I had a really great time during the game. Taya really gave us a lot of room to be creative and use our imagination when trying to solve the puzzles and get ourselves out of situations. Lots of fun!

I participated in a Zoom session with Taya as part of a social event during a work retreat. Our company described the activity to us in advance as an "online escape room experience." Having been to escape rooms and envisioning physical rooms full of props, I was hesitant at first about how an online version of an escape room would work. Taya pulled it off SO WELL. She had written highly detailed descriptions that clearly helped me visualize the scenarios, and she read these with aloud to us with both strong narration and (my favorite part) different voices for all the characters' speaking lines! :D She also created some maps, which she sent over to us via Zoom's file sharing, to help better spatially orient ourselves in the game. My favorite aspect of playing with Taya, though, is that she thoroughly seemed to enjoy the experience along with us. She passed no judgement when we pondered odd aspects of the rooms she developed, or when we devised ridiculous plans in our efforts to escape. She was smiling and laughing along with us during the last obstacle, as we misinterpreted the clues and went in a completely other direction from the intended solution. If you want to feel like your session is being run by as friend, book Taya!
