About me

Hello there. My name is Brad, but some of you may know me as, or come to know me as, Paradox, which I have used as my internet alias for years now, or as the Kobold King, which is what my friends call me, and there's a long story there. I am a GM of 10 years, getting real close to 11, and I specialize in specifically 5th edition of D&D, but have played other systems like Pathfinder and a bit of CoC, and may be interested in running them later on more as well. My DM style is a mix of fun, whimsical jokes and shenanigans, mixed with cinematic story rp moments, and usually challenging, but rewarding combat. I enjoy when players take the path less travelled to solve problems, such as strategizing and using clever ideas in combat, or subverting entire encounters through clever spellplay, rp, or other ideas. I'm a bit of a high-risk, high-reward style of DM, so I enjoy when players try unusual, fun ideas, which may or may not work out, but is almost always guaranteed to be a memorable moment.

I specialize in specifically 5th edition of D&D, but have played other systems like Pathfinder and a bit of CoC, and may be interested in running them later on more as well. I prefer to focus more on the rp side of the game, personally, but if done well combat can naturally fit seamlessly into that process, so I feel that I have a little bit to offer for everyone, except metagamers, war gamers, and "that guy" as I prefer to run things in a way that I feel is fun for myself and the group as a whole, so I won't be stopping what I'm doing to restructure the entire campaign and session to suit those players specifically. That said, a bit of meta by accident on occasion is fine, it happens to everyone, and enjoying combat more than rp is fine too, just be mindful it's not the focus of every session.
