About me

I have been a fantasy nerd for decades, but recently started playing & running TTRPGs and I feel I have found my calling! As much as I love playing games, I love running the games even more... especially for new players! A teacher at heart, I love guiding new players through the fantastic worlds of TTRPGs. My profession is Creative Director for a software company, so I bring all of my design and production talents to bear in my games (custom tokens, complex lighting/fog of war, atmospheric music, etc.). I mostly GM for D&D games, but I also have begun running games in Forbidden Lands, Vaesen, and soon Dragonbane. GM Style

I have a very laid-back style of GMing. What this means is... I like having fun. I stick pretty close to the rules, but if they need to be bent for the situation or scene, then I have no problem. Even though it is a fantasy game, I tend to stick with what makes the most sense, given the world your characters are in. I LOVE roleplay, but I also know that it is difficult for new players to feel comfortable just jumping right in. So, I use disarming tactics to make sure we all know that even though it feels silly at first, there's nothing better than really sinking into character and living out each moment. I tend to mirror what the group wants when it comes to tone and level of maturity. So for new players, I tend to be more even-handed. If I am running a game for seasoned veterans of the game, the gloves come off and things get gritty.
