About me
Hi, I'm Kade, an Aussie nerd living in the UK, a husband, a father of two, and lover of Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). I've been playing D&D for over 20 years. My introduction to the game was through asking my parents about a picture hanging up in our hallway. It was an average quality, hand drawn portrait of a man in chainmail armour, wielding a longsword with both hands. It was a drawing my uncle did of my dad's D&D character from one of their campaigns. My mum went on to explain that my uncles character was an artist and that hers was a cartographer and she would draw the maps in the world as described by their dungeon master. I thought this was amazing and so begun my journey into the wonderful world of D&D! When not playing D&D, you'll probably find me playing boardgames with my kids, or eating pizza.
GM Style
I, like a lot of people, learn through doing or being shown and I like to teach that way too. So if the 384 page D&D Players Handbook feels overwhelming, I've got your back and can teach you what you need to know to get started. My games take a fairly relaxed pace with a nice balance between the three pillars of D&D: exploration, roleplay, and combat. Starting this way allows for the group to gel, players to get to know their characters and for new players to adjust and get a feel for what they enjoy doing. We can then tailor the campaign to have more of what the group prefer. I value fun over everything else so if a rule gets in the way of fun, it can be bent. I like everyone to feel involved and included during sessions so I request that everyone is treated with respect - except goblins, you can disrespect the goblins!
