About Jupiter
Well met, Traveler! I'm Jupiter (she/they). I'm queer, neurodivergent, and a self-taught DM focused on character-growth and spotlights. I value whole party connection that thrives in both emotional bliss and turmoil. Because of this, I emphasize a safe table for all players where everyone can comfortably explore the story-world and their character. I have the most familiarity with D&D5e, but I love to merge gameplay mechanics from Thirsty Sword Lesbians into the experience. Specifically, the emotional support mechanic. Adventuring is taxing, and we've got to take care of one another! I'm at my best guiding players through a text-based game, so expect lots and lots of roleplay opportunities. I have to put my Creative Writing M.A. to use somehow!

How Jupiter runs games
My table is roleplay heavy with a focus on collaborative storytelling. With a text-based game, expect two paragraphs to multiple paragraphs as a typical post. I try to be as descriptive and detailed as possible; I want the play-by-post experience to be as immersive as a table one. We'll use a mix of battle maps on Roll20 and theatre of the mind. I enjoy combat that is challenging and rewarding. The party learns something about themselves, or their situation as a result of fighting. In general, I find the RAW to be a guide, and I love rule of cool. I utilize "luck checks" (rolling a d20 for a high number) to embrace and encourage creativity. I am an advocate for player safety. Alongside session zero, I use player surveys, lines and veils, and private channels to check in with all players. My table is a space where everyone can feel comfortable to explore the world and their character.
