About me

Hail and well-met, virtual explorers! I'm a lifelong gamer who's been playing and running Dungeons & Dragons campaigns since the 1980s. What started as a childhood hobby has grown into a lifelong passion and profession. I bring years of professional writing experience to the virtual tabletop, as well as a rapidly expanding collection of digital sourcebooks and adventures, which I share with every player. I have Pro accounts on Roll20 and D&D Beyond, and I utilize a huge library of music and sound effects to add depth and immersion. Over the decades, I've also amassed a huge collection of physical sourcebooks that help me create unique adventure hooks and spin-offs. As a natural storyteller and talented professional writer, you and your companions will be treated to an epic campaign that ramps up the stakes as the party grows in power! Your adversaries and the perils you'll endure will resonate with you long after our journey together has concluded.

GM Style

I prefer to run campaigns in which PCs are similar to fantasy special forces operators, dispatched to quell evil wherever it festers. My focus is on action, exploration, and building arcane power. I do some voice acting and roleplaying. I follow the "rule of cool"—rules are guidelines, not rigid laws. While stats and rules have their place, sometimes keeping the game exciting is more important. If bad rolls threaten to derail a session or result in a character's unnecessary death, tweaking the outcome can turn a grim situation into an edge-of-your-seat moment that players will remember. My goal isn't to be an adversary but to help players create an epic story together. Some of the ways I do this include: Player Collaboration: I encourage player input on how they envision outcomes, especially during critical moments. This reinforces the collaborative storytelling aspect. Flexible Difficulty: Instead of strict dice rolls, I sometimes make difficulty adjustments based on player creativity or in-character decisions to reward outside-the-box thinking, similar to D&D's Inspiration mechanic. Narrative Consequences: If dice rolls are fudged, I will sometimes incorporate narrative consequences like lasting scars or future complications to help maintain tension and bring characters to the brink without experiencing outright defeat. Epic Failures: Sometimes failed rolls can be just as memorable—I like to turn failures into dramatic, story-enhancing moments instead of game-enders.
