About me

Hey, my name is John. Welcome to my profile. I was introduced to D&D when a friend in collage asked me to join their new game. i was hooked right away. They also introduced me to a map making software and my creativity found a canvas. I was making maps and stories even before my first session started. So when the DM had to quit after the first session, I was able to take over. And so it happened that I started my second session behind the screen. I loved every moment of it. Learned the ropes through Critical Role and other DM’s on Youtube. Since then I have build myself a great group of friends and have played with them multiple days a week. Now I want to bring my world to a bigger audience. And so I stumbled onto Startplaying to welcome you all into my own world.

GM Style

You can expect a good balance between roleplay and combat. I love to create stories for you to play out or let you find your own. I have the most fun when I can sit back and listen to your roleplay with each other or get my NPC’s in there with you. But look around every corner and keep and eye on your backs as combat will lurk around. Prepare to hear the words: “Roll initiative” at every turn as I bring you over to my battlemap for some play in tactical battles. Don’t get cocky though. You may be the main character of your story, but not of the world. Death is always an option. I don’t want to kill your character but my monsters do. Where can you find this balance you ask? Everywhere you want. I have a vast world for you to explore in 8 different era’s, and if that isn’t enough, there are more worlds in galaxy to find. Or you can hop on over to one of the elemental plains or go further out to the outer plains. There are plenty of places to find and explore. Not enough? Don’t worry, I am always making more. You can expect the following during my sessions. - Lots of stories to find, including your own backstories. - Help whenever you need it. New player? Don’t worry, I will help you. - PVP is not allowed…. Unless things happen and all players involved agree on it. - Don’t seek it out though, it is a cooperative game after all. - Always be aware of the consequences of your actions. This is not Skyrim. - You are the main character of your story but not of the world. There might be places you maybe should not be if you don’t want to die. - Bored of the standard monsters? Don’t worry I create my own to add to the game as well. - Bored of the standard character options? For this I am also creating more for you to use. - Rule of Cool is more important then RAW. But don’t take it too far. - Have a cool idea? Let me know and we can see how it will work. - Feel free to tell me your ideas on how to break my world. I love preparing for those. Don’t worry, I never use them against you. - So, How do you want to this? (yes I stole that one. No shame)
