About me
Experienced DM and player. I run a discord server and a youtube channel. I enjoy running fast paced cinematic D&D games with action, shenanigans, humor, and grit. My style ranges from grim dark to high camp. I also grow catnip for the felines I meet in life.
GM Style
I believe in player agency with less dice rolling for the small stuff which allows more time to focus on the narrative story telling and antics of the player characters. I am an experienced DM and have been playing tabletop RPGs and miniatures games since '82. I ventured into VTT during the recent plaguedemic of 2020. In my campaigns and one shots I utilize Theatre of the Mind, Discord, and Roll 20. I'm cool with your character on pencil & paper, DnD Beyond, or Roll 20; and for all the dice goblins out there feel free to roll using your clickety clacks, and just tell me the final number. I adhere to a player honor system during games.

As a new online player, Joe provided me a great introduction to the apps and gameplay. The group I am with has known Joe for some time and everyone was very helpful and patient. The dynamics of online versus in person were challenging for me but I truly feel like I am part of an adventuring party. Great DM and comes prepared and flexible.

I love playing with Joe as the DM! In a beginners learning game right now, and Joe is great at teaching us and keeping the game going at the same time. He is superb at pacing - I feel like we have a great combination of fighting, exploration, and rp in every session. I didn't click 'good for beginners' as a tag above because I'm only able to pick 3 tags, and I think his knowledge of the rules/structure, his inclusivity and safety tactics, and his fun usage of the Rule of Cool makes him a great DM for any level of experience -including beginners! Joe is also receptive to feedback and very good at setting scene/tone/stakes at any point in the adventure. I enjoy our sessions a lot :D. I highly recommend him as a DM for any length of adventure or level of player experience.

Hands down the best DM I have ever played with. Lots of flavor and fun! He builds worlds for us and creates an environment we feel safe to role play in and flesh out our experiences. His great games are built upon a foundation of an intimate knowledge game rules and mechanics and punctuated with player agency. 10/10
