About me

Hi all! I have been DMing for D&D for over 10 years at this point, in both 4e and 5e. I started playing with 3.5 while in college. I am starting out on my professional DM path, and I love introducing new folks to the hobby. I feel it can really help people grow, allow for the fostering of understanding, empathy, and friendship, and just help people relax and enjoy themselves. I believe everyone can and should be represented in gaming. I am the Dungeon Master for "Nuuli Forged", a 5e homebrew actual play D&D game on twitch, as well as one of the co-hosts for the "Mid-Level Adventurers" podcast. Feel free to check them out to get a taste of my DMing style.

GM Style

I enjoy a good mix of Roleplay and Combat. I take the view that as a GM I am the showrunner for the players. They make their choices and I show how the game world responds. I love a good story, and a good character, so I try to find ways to tweak adventures and the game to reflect the choices made by the players. I specialize in inclusive game running, as a member of the LGBTQ+ Community, I think it is important to incorporate the breadth of humanity into game play.

Jarrod is a fantastic and well-organized DM. He took us through a short low-level adventure with D&D newbies and veterans alike, and was great at making sure everyone felt welcome and had fun. Would absolutely recommend!

Jarrod is an incredibly experienced GM who knows how to run a fun game. Between wacky character voices and his openness to let players try stuff, the world feels responsive and alive. This adventure has a great mix of RP opportunities, interesting combat, and high stakes moments - with surprising beats of humor and levity throughout. I am especially impressed by his creative approach to low level combat, creating opportunities for thoughtful player strategies without it feeling overwhelming.

I've known Jarrod for years, he is always extremely knowledgeable about various tabletop game systems and is generally just a super fun guy to boot. Always prepared (and preparing) for current and upcoming game sessions, but never takes things too seriously. A+++ GM would recommend.

As a first time player I was somewhat intimidated about jumping into a game with more experienced D&D players. But Jarrod seamlessly integrated my neophyte questions into the flow of the game without breaking the pace of events. Even as a new player it was clear that Jarrod put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into planning our one off adventure. Everyone had a blast with the session.
